I am so excited to be joining such a wonderful and devoted staff here at Ascent Academy. Before I was a teacher, I was the lead cook at Ruby River Steakhouse and a newspaper reporter for the Standard Examiner Newspaper in Ogden. I wrote for 16 years, including while I was cooking or teaching.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in English and P.E. from Weber State University and have been teaching for the past six years (two in Weber School District and four in Davis School District). When I'm not teaching, I love to play sports with my two boys, grill just about anything, read a good book and I still love to write.

My wife is a teacher and has been for a number of years, so teaching runs in the family.

I look forward to being able to build on what great things have already taken place here at Ascent Academy and I can't wait to get started in helping students become better writers and to develop a lifelong enjoyment of reading.
