My name is Anna McDaniels and I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. My family relocated to Utah in the fall of 2011. Moving to Utah has proven to be an exciting venture for my family and we love raising our children in such a family friendly environment. I love sushi, chocolate covered fruit, camping, hiking, yoga and watching my girls dance. I graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with my Bachelors Degree in Human Services Counseling and a minor in Family Studies.

I taught preschool at Centennial Hills Academy in Las Vegas Nevada and all day Kindergarten at Challenger School in Farmington Utah. This will be my third year teaching Kindergarten at Ascent Academy. I LOVE teaching Kindergarten because this is the year that children decide how they feel about their future in the academic world. This integral year gives young minds the excitement and drive to move forward with confidence throughout their scholastic endeavors. My favorite children's book is Oh, The Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. 'Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away!'

I was born and raised in the country of Tonga in the South Pacific. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from BYU-Hawaii, and I taught 1st Grade for seven years and 3rd grade for a year at Quest Academy. I am married to David Fisher from Boring, Oregon, and we were married in the Portland Oregon Temple. We are currently living in Pleasant View, Utah and we have three children, Ailine(Linee), who is fifteen years old, Kawika(Leka), who is thirteen, Ne’eulani(Losa), who is eighteen months. My children do not go by their first names but rather all have a nickname that starts with an “L”. Linee has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, and Leka and Losa have dark hair, brown eyes, and brown skin. I love sewing, making Hawaiian quilts, performing the Hawaiian hula, and baking.

I have a passion for teaching and I am very excited about the opportunity to be a teacher here at Ascent Academy.

After years of an unfulfilling career in retail management and listening to my older brother’s inspiring stories about teaching, 14 years ago I made the great decision to become a teacher. Teaching in elementary grades from 2nd to 6th has been exhilarating as well as challenging, but I’ve never looked back! Now I have my own inspiring stories to tell.
I am from Phoenix but moved to Utah to get my bachelor’s degree in (well, let’s just say it was longer ago than I’d like to admit). Now I also have my master’s degree and live in Centerville with my family, just a mile away. My wife is a school psychologist, my oldest daughter lives in Washington, D.C., and my youngest three kids are at home, in junior high and elementary school. I love spending time with my family and watching them grow and learn, attending sporting events with my kids (we love to go to Bees games and Jazz games), and learning about America’s history. I’m so exited to come to Ascent Academy where excellence abounds, not to mention in such a beautiful new building and so close to home!

My name is Shawnae Grisham Aiu and I am many things: wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, auntie, student, chauffeur, nurse, psychologist, cheerleader, maid, bank and cook.  I grew up on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii.   My husband, Eric, is a native Hawaiian and is the opposite of me, he's definitely a laid-back Polynesian.  We met right after graduating from different high schools in 1987, when we worked at Chuck E. Cheese's together. Yes, I was Chuck E. for 2 years and then the Promotions Director for 3 years. Tourism is Hawaii's main industry and so I eventually made my way working as front desk clerks in a couple hotels on Waikiki beach, then moved to Central Reservations. My husband and I were married in 1992 on Kahala Beach.  We have 3 fantastic kids, Keoki, Keana and Kalea.   Eric and I have moved several times for one reason or another and so our kids have all been born in different states, Keoki was born in Utah, Keana in Hawaii and Kalea in Oregon.   I was blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at home with our kids when they were small and got back into the work force when Kalea started 1st grade.  Fortunately, I happened to fall into an amazing charter school, and ended up becoming a founder working with the original board members to establish and open the school.   I was hired as a second-grade instructor but my niche ended up being a homeroom teacher.  I have taught since 2006 and started my college journey at Western Governors University around the same time.  It hasn't been an easy journey towards my teacher licensure but well worth it.  I have had the opportunity to teach many grade levels k-6 and love children at all levels. I am an animal lover and currently have 20 pets. I love books, you will rarely find me without my Nook or a book reading. I collect salt-n-pepper shakers from all over and have a large collection. I enjoy video games that challenge me to figure clues out and I love board games with the family like Apples to Apples. I support my kids in sports programs and will be the loud one on the bench during the games and grading papers during half time.  As I was growing up I never imagined that I would be a teacher, I always planned to work in a field with animals or insects.  However, throughout my life I have been guided back to the education field in odd ways, so when I found myself hauling chairs, desks and filing cabinets the summer of 2006 to help build a school little did I know how much my life was about to change. I am truly blessed to be doing something that I love with the most supportive, hardworking and caring ohana.

I am so excited to be a part of Ascent Academy - Farmington! Last year was an amazing first year at this school and I am looking forward to an amazing second year. I love working with children and watching as they grow and learn throughout the year.

I have four kids, 3 of which attend Ascent Academy. They are the light of my life and fun and laughter seem to follow us wherever we go. We keep busy with fishing, hiking, soccer, dance, playing the Wii, and lots of family activities and outings. We love adventures but we also love just being at home with each other as well. My house is filled with books and you will always find a book nearby me that I am reading. I love to learn new things and explore new places. I am currently attending Western Governor's University to obtain my Master's degree.

I am excited to have the opportunity to be part of the team here at Ascent Academy! I feel blessed to be in the profession doing what I love. Hello!  I am so excited to begin this fabulous new adventure at Ascent Academy.  This will be my 5th year teaching.  I enjoy what I do and feel that this is what I was meant to do.  I love children and all of the fun and laughter that they bring to my life on a daily basis.
I have worked in education for the last 14 years.  I was a substitute teacher in Colorado for many years.  When I moved to Utah.  I decided to go ahead and get my Teaching License.  I have enjoyed every minute of having my own classroom.  I bring lots of outside knowledge to the Math Classroom.  It is important students to know that Math is used everyday in "real life".  Math is fun and I like to bring that to the classroom.
Outside of school, I am a mom ( 2 daughters) wife, daughter and sister.  Most of my free time is spent watching my youngest daughter play softball, volleyball, basketball and run track.  She keeps my busy.
I am ready for a fun filled year!

Hello! I am thrilled to start another year at Ascent Academy-Farmington. I love our school and our students. A little about me, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2012, and this past summer I finished my Master's in Technology and Learning.  I love working with children. I enjoy their humor, perspective on life, and their intelligence. The best moments in teaching usually involve laughter.

I am a reader! I fell in love with reading in elementary school and read, for the first time, books I still consider my favorites. The BFGAnne of Green GablesRoll of Thunder Hear My Cry, and The Wheel on the School House are just a few of my lifetime favorites. I have more favorites but the boss says to keep this biography short. Most of my free time is spent reading I normally have two, three, or four books going. I dare you to catch me one day and check this fact.

At home I am married to a wonderful husband, and we have four children, two dogs, and two cats.  In my spare time I love to kayak, swim, complete dyi projects, and shop.

I am super excited to meet my new students and start another year of learning and fun!

I’m so excited to continue teaching at Ascent Academy where their mission and vision mirror my own! This will be my third year teaching. I attended Weber State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also have a strong background in the Arts having received an Interior Design degree previous to attending Weber State University. I have been a member of many choirs, cheer and dance teams, art classes, and an Interior Designer at a professional firm for nine years. I love to engage students in learning by incorporating various forms of art and all learning styles.

I am passionate about teaching students to be resilient and persistent and am looking forward to learning along with my students in a classroom where personality, talents, and interests are not forgotten.

I’ve been married for almost twelve years now and have three adorable, young children. I ride my beloved horses whenever possible and love competing at Barrel Races. I also enjoy reading, singing with my sisters, being outdoors, playing all types of sports, dining out, and spending time with loved ones.

I’m extremely excited to get to know you and your kiddo this upcoming school year!

I love teaching and getting to know my students. I studied History at Brigham Young University and taught High School before teaching fifth grade. Teaching younger kids is so much fun! I love getting to know  the kids and having fun with them all day. I'm excited to start at Ascent Academy because I love the freedom of choice that students have in their own learning. This is my fourth year teaching fifth grade and my seventh year in total.

I live in Kaysville and I have two young and spunky daughters and one friendly cat named Queenie. I like to run, go to the gym, mountain bike, go to the lake, wakeboard, and snowboard. My favorite food is chocolate, but I also love protein shakes and smoothies. In my free time I like to take naps or read or both, watch the British Baking Show with my kids, or take my paddleboard to the lake.
I look forward to a fun filled year with my little Yeti's.

I am so excited to be a teacher at Ascent Academies of Utah. The philosophies of Ascent mirror my personal beliefs of teaching and how children learn. I am thrilled to be teaching math and technology this year and I look forward to working and collaborating with the entire Ascent team including teachers, staff, students, and parents.

A little about me- For thirteen years, I worked at a childcare center where I had the opportunity to work with children of all ages. In May of 2015 I graduated from Weber State University.

I have been married to my husband Kurt for 25 years and we have our daughter Haley who is currently attending Weber State in hopes to pursue a nursing degree. She has a son named Liam who is nearly three years old and is our pride and joy.

My hobbies include gardening, camping with my family and friends, working on my family history, and sewing.
