FARMINGTON 2017-2018 ENROLLMENT

2017-2018 Enrollment

Open Enrollment (OE) for the 2017-2018 school year will begin on January 4, 2017 at 10 AM.

  • The first Open Enrollment period will be held from January 4, 2017 through January 17, 2017. The first lottery will be held on January 18, 2017.
  • Open Enrollment periods will then be on a continual basis with lotteries held as vacancies are available.
  • Currently enrolled students will receive a link to declare their Intent to Return on November 30, 2016. The Intent to Return must be declared by December 16, 2016. Students currently attending the school will receive first preference.

  • If you applied for the 2016-2017 school year and your application was not chosen, you must reapply for the 2017-2018 school year.  We will discontinue use of the 2016-2017 lottery on February 28, 2017.

Only enroll your student in the lottery for the campus at which you intend your student to attend. Enrolling at multiple campuses will not increase your changes of being accepted to the AAU campus of your choice.

Our Farmington campus may enroll 544 students for the 2017-2018 school year. Each elementary grade will average 54 students and the junior high will have positions for 60 students in each grade.

If the number of student applications exceed the number of positions available at AAU, students will be randomly chosen to fill available positions; this process is referred to as a lottery. All applicants in the lottery pool will be considered, and a computerized lottery program will randomly select students. Every effort will be made to accept all siblings in an individual family, but this may not be possible due to the cap on class sizes and the lottery process. Siblings of students currently in the school will be given preference if openings become available.

Once you have submitted an application for your student(s) to attend AAU, your child’s application will be held in the lottery pool until a vacancy is available or the Open Enrollment period ends. The lottery will be held after each Open Enrollment period. Families will be notified via e-mail of their child’s acceptance into the school through the computerized lottery program. Families selected will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and the timeline they will need to follow. If you do not receive a notice of enrollment after you submit your application, please assume nothing has changed in regard to your students enrollment status or log in to the enrollment portal to check status.

Enrollment Status Definitions:
Applied Not yet accepted into the school through the lottery process.
Accepted Accepted into the school, but registration paperwork is not complete.
Confirmed Accepted into the school, notified school of desire to attend, but registration paperwork is not complete.
Registered Accepted and completed registration paperwork.
Declined Either accepted into the school and did not complete registration paperwork before the deadline or withdrew from the lottery process.

Completion and submission of an enrollment application does not guarantee admission to, or constitute acceptance in, Ascent Academies of Utah. Please be sure to fill out ALL appropriate information and requested fields before you submit the application. Be sure to double check grades, phone numbers, and email addresses. It is imperative that all information is complete and accurate. Be sure to record your confirmation number which allows you to update important changes as they become necessary.
